Downtown Uniontown, Fayette’s County Seat, will be a vibrant community with a vital mix of retail businesses and professional services where merchants work in unison creating a business environment which promulgates success.
Downtown Uniontown will be considered a destination for county residents, their friends and family, and visitors alike to explore and engage in the city’s rich history, its cultural assets, and its community activities.
Downtown Uniontown’s retail center will immerse shoppers in an atmosphere of colorful and inviting displays of unique and intriguing goods that capture their interest and incite exploration.
Downtown Uniontown’s rich woven tapestry of architectural gems like the Historic State Theatre Center for the Arts will attract the year-round attention of residents and visitors alike with a diverse mix of activities and entertainment.
Downtown Uniontown will be more than a destination. It will be a residential area with diverse housing options for all ages. The streets of this close-knit community will be alive with the sounds of neighbors, and visitors enjoying an evening stroll along our flower-lined streets or an afternoon cup of coffee in one of our café’s.

The Business Committee of the Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, thriving, and economically sustainable downtown community. Comprised of local business owners, stakeholders, and community leaders, the Committee serves as a collaborative platform to address the needs and opportunities within the district. Our mission is to enhance the downtown experience by supporting business growth, improving infrastructure, and promoting initiatives that attract visitors and residents alike. Through strategic planning, advocacy, and partnership, the Business Committee works to ensure that Uniontown remains a dynamic and welcoming destination for all.
Announcement: Formation of the Business Committee!
The Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority is excited to announce the creation of a Business Committee to support the growth and vitality of our downtown community. The Committee held its inaugural meeting on July 17 and will convene monthly to address key initiatives and opportunities.
We are currently accepting Letters of Interest from local business owners, stakeholders, and community members who are passionate about contributing to the success of downtown Uniontown. To apply, please submit your letter via mail to 20 N. Gallatin Avenue or email to info@uniontownredevelopment.com.
By bringing together business owners, community leaders, and stakeholders, the committee will create new opportunities for economic growth, shared resources, and coordinated events that energize the downtown area.
Businesses that are located in the Central Business District are encouraged to join the committee, as they too have the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas of how to improve the Central Business District, as well have a dedicated mindset to fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration within our vibrant community.
Joining the Business Committee isn’t just about meetings and policies — it’s about being part of something that truly makes a difference in your local business community. Uniontown is built on the strength, dedication, and vision of its members. Together, we have what it takes to turn goals into results — and make a lasting impact on our local economy.

Marketing and Promotion: Highlighting the unique offerings of downtown Uniontown through events, campaigns, and partnerships. Infrastructure and Beautification: Enhancing the physical environment to create an attractive and functional downtown space. Advocacy and Collaboration: Serving as a unified voice for the business community and working closely with local government, organizations, and stakeholders to address challenges and seize opportunities. Our Initiatives: Business Improvement District (BID): Offering services such as facade grants, garbage assistance, and window washing to improve the downtown area. Main Street Program: Designating and revitalizing a central corridor to boost economic activity and community pride. Monthly Business Committee Meetings: Facilitating collaboration and networking among local business owners and stakeholders.
